Choose a FiveM server pack by the systems you can maintain and the player journeys it can demonstrate. A large resource count, a familiar city design or a low price does not tell you whether character data will survive a restart, whether your chosen inventory will integrate, or whether you can receive updates.
This is a buying and acceptance guide. It does not rank particular downloads or claim that RPScripts has run them. RPScripts sells server resources, so treat a shop listing as the seller's description and ask for evidence about the exact package you will receive.
Write a short requirement list before comparing screenshots: the game edition, framework, inventory, character system, police workflow, voice integration and jobs you actually need. Mark each item as essential or optional. A missing essential system is an integration project; ten unrelated extras do not make up for it.
Keep framework and game edition separate. ESX, QBCore and Qbox describe different framework ecosystems. Legacy and Enhanced describe a different compatibility boundary. Qbox documents a bridge for many QBCore resources, with exceptions; a pack using ox_lib is not automatically a Qbox pack. Read the Qbox compatibility FAQ and our framework comparison before planning a conversion.
For each candidate, request the following information in writing. A file list can establish that a folder exists; it cannot establish that the resource works, is maintained, or is licensed for your use.
| Check | Useful evidence | What it helps you decide |
|---|---|---|
| Core and edition | Framework repository or release, exact core revision, target GTA V edition and server build | Whether your required resources have a documented integration path |
| Included files | Resource inventory, configuration files, SQL schema and installation notes for the delivered edition | What you receive and what you must obtain separately |
| Dependencies | Inventory, database adapter, target, voice and UI libraries, including separate purchases | The real setup work and total cost |
| Access and licensing | Creator identity, applicable licences, escrow requirements and the account that receives access | Whether the intended server can legitimately run and update each component |
| Maintenance | Changelog, update instructions, local modifications and support scope | Who will resolve a broken integration after an update |
Ask whether the download contains one supported configuration or several alternatives. Two inventories or banking systems in the same archive are choices to resolve, not necessarily two systems to run together. Request a clear startup order and a list of the components used in the demonstration.
For protected resources, confirm how your Cfx.re account receives the required asset entitlement. The official Asset Escrow documentation explains that an unauthorized server cannot start a protected resource. Possessing an archive and holding an entitlement are separate matters.
Read the licence for bundled source code and assets. Ask the seller to resolve unclear ownership or distribution rights before payment. A server styled after a well-known roleplay community does not establish that community's involvement or permission.
For an Enhanced project, check the current Cfx.re migration notes against every essential dependency. At this source review, those notes list Asset Escrow among the unimplemented features. Treat that as a specific dependency question to resolve, not as a reason to assume a Legacy package will work after a filename change.
| Approach | When it is useful | Work you still own |
|---|---|---|
| A documented server pack | Its chosen systems already match your requirements and the seller can demonstrate the delivered configuration | Deployment, credential replacement, permissions, economy changes, acceptance tests and ongoing updates |
| An official framework recipe plus selected resources | You need control over the stack or would replace much of a pack immediately | Resource selection, integration, migrations and a repeatable installation process |
| A custom framework pack | Your team specifically wants that framework and can maintain its APIs and data model | Framework-specific integrations and the risk of depending on a smaller maintenance team |
Budget hosting, storage, backups, required licences and your integration time separately. Request a current quote and support terms for the exact package. Avoid comparing a historical starting price with a different edition or a price that excludes required components.
If a pack would need a new inventory, phone, framework and appearance system immediately, estimate that replacement work before treating it as a shortcut. An official txAdmin installation may give you a clearer starting point.
Use an isolated database and private test environment. Keep the original download intact, record its version and checksum, and obtain current server software from Cfx.re. Do not import an unfamiliar SQL dump into a populated production database. Use the database engine required by the chosen framework; for example, the Qbox installation guide specifically targets MariaDB.
Keep a small acceptance record: package version, test, expected result, observed result, blocker and resolution. A clean startup log is only one result. If a required journey fails, keep it open as a blocker instead of describing the pack as ready.
A useful request is: “For this exact package, please confirm the framework revision, Legacy or Enhanced support, required separate resources and entitlements, supported database engine, installation documentation and update process. Can you demonstrate character creation, inventory, vehicle persistence and a restart using the configuration you deliver?”
Compare the answers with your requirement list. Keep the candidate that has a credible maintenance path and meets the essential checks; leave unsupported claims unresolved until the seller provides evidence. For the next step, use our server setup guide and server-template installation guide.
