Choose a FiveM phone by how it connects calls, character data, inventory items and server services. Start with the apps players actually need: communication, banking, emergency services and any housing or garage access you intend to expose. A long app list does not establish that those apps work with your existing resources.
LB Phone and the current Quasar Smartphone V3 documentation offer two starting points for comparison. Evaluate the exact release you can obtain and its matching documentation. An older download with a similar product name may have different integrations, database tables and dependencies.
| Requirement | What to verify |
|---|---|
| Calls | Your exact voice resource, including any speakerphone, video or radio features you need |
| Phone identity | Whether the number belongs to a character or a specific inventory item |
| Server apps | The banking, garage, housing, dispatch and business resources each app connects to |
| Media | The upload provider, credentials, storage limits and ongoing cost |
| Existing data | Numbers, contacts, messages, accounts, attachments and custom app records that need conversion |
| Maintenance | Editable adapters, update instructions and support for your selected release |
LB's unique-phone guide describes assigning a phone number to an individual phone item. This requires inventory metadata and a supported integration; the guide includes ox_inventory and qb-inventory paths and a separate process for custom inventories.
That model is worth comparing if sharing or losing a physical phone should matter in your roleplay. Decide what should happen when the item is given away, stored or confiscated, and test the selected integration rather than assuming any metadata-capable inventory works unchanged.
The custom-framework guide explains that wallet, home, garage and services apps require framework functions to be implemented for a custom setup. A standalone option therefore still needs integration work for those features.
The installation guide covers oxmysql, database requirements, dependency order and media-upload configuration. Account for the upload service as part of the operating setup, and keep server credentials in the documented server configuration rather than in client code.
The current Quasar Smartphone documentation identifies V3 and names ESX, QBCore and Qbox. It describes calls, messages, banking and social apps, along with player language and appearance settings.
Its installation guide lists oxmysql, ox_lib, xsound and pma-voice, and places the phone after the framework and inventory. Compare those requirements with your existing audio and inventory setup before considering a switch.
For either phone, confirm that the exact release supports your server's GTA V edition. The Cfx.re migration notes list Mumble as deprecated on Enhanced, so a pma-voice dependency list alone does not establish that calls will work there.
Investigate this option if its app workflows and documented dependencies match your plan. Keep the current V3 documentation separate from the older Smartphone PRO line. Do not assume that an app, voice adapter or add-on described for one edition is included in another.
Inventory numbers, character identifiers and app accounts may need different mappings. Decide which identifier remains authoritative, how number collisions are resolved, and whether stored attachment URLs will remain accessible. Ask for a conversion plan for each data type you intend to retain, including offline characters and unique phone items.
LB's installation page includes removing existing phone_ tables before a fresh installation. That is a concrete reason to separate fresh setup from migration: following reset instructions on an existing database will not preserve phone history. Inspect every SQL file, keep a restorable backup and rehearse the conversion on staging.
If there is no supported converter for your current phone, decide whether to fund a custom migration or make a clearly communicated fresh start. Do not describe the switch as lossless until representative records and their relationships have been checked.
For each important app, request a demonstration or integration instructions using the resource you run. A banking screen must use the intended account and record a transfer once. A housing app must read current ownership and keys. A garage app must respect the vehicle state held by your garage system.
For photos, audio and video, identify the upload provider, any required service plan and how staff manage failed uploads or unwanted content. Test a failure as well as a successful upload. A working camera animation does not establish that a photo has been stored and can be reopened later.
Choose after the core communication and integration workflows pass. Additional apps can be evaluated later; preserving character identity, correct transactions and usable calls is the first acceptance gate.
