RoadBalloon by RoadShop adds flyable hot air balloons to your FiveM server: buoyancy physics, winds that change with altitude, rentals at launch sites and room for up to seven passengers.
What's included
Flying
- Buoyancy physics: lift from the envelope temperature, thinner air with altitude, inertia, drag and gas consumption. The balloon reacts with a delay, as a real one does.
- Hold the burner to climb, let the envelope cool or open the vent to descend.
- Winds aloft: several altitude layers blow in different directions. You steer by choosing the layer that takes you where you want to go.
- Optional W/A/S/D steering assist for servers that want it easier, or set it to zero for pure wind flying.
Balloons and designs
- Classic balloon for the pilot and 3 passengers, passenger balloon for the pilot and 7 passengers.
- Five envelope designs for both: Classic Stripes, Rainbow, Sunset, Night Sky and RoadShop.
- Own models of envelopes, baskets and burners, with burner flame, light and positional burner, ignition, vent and pilot light sounds.
- Passengers stand in the basket with the pilot, and the pilot can hand over control in flight.
Pilot instrument panel
- Altitude, height above ground, climb rate, envelope temperature with the hover mark, gas, a compass with drift and a live wind profile.
- Metric or imperial units (
Config.Units).
For server owners
- Rental at three launch sites (Los Santos Golf Club, Sandy Shores Airfield, McKenzie Field in Grapeseed) with a size and design picker, paid from cash or bank. More sites can be added in
config.lua.
- Permissions by job and grade, player identifier or ACE decide who may rent, fly and ride along.
- The server owns rentals, seats and money and refuses implausible flight data.
- Exports such as
IsInBalloon, GetBalloon and GetBalloons, and the ACE-restricted admin command /balloon to spawn and remove balloons.
- English and German included.
Requirements and setup
ESX, QBCore, Qbox and standalone: the bridge detects the framework when the server starts, and rentals are free in standalone mode. OneSync is required; no database tables are needed. The manifest lists ox_lib as a dependency, so ox_lib has to start before the resource.
Installation
- Copy the
road_balloon folder into your resources folder.
- Add
ensure road_balloon to your server config after ensure ox_lib, then restart the server.
- Prices, sizes, designs, launch sites, limits, physics, winds and the steering assist are set in
config.lua.
