What is this?

Jim-Mechanic (v2.1.1) is a QBCore mechanic job script (framework: QBCore, not ESX). It is an RP replacement for the usual "sit in car, press button, car fixed" repairs: mechanics repair and upgrade vehicles with items, using the systems QBCore already has instead of extra databases for every part.

Features

  • All menus use qb-menu and are dynamic: options that don't exist for the vehicle are hidden, including the differences between bikes and cars
  • Supports the newer DLC wheel rims and import vehicles that are in your shared.lua
  • Also works on planes, boats and helicopters
  • Toolbox item to remove performance parts and see which cosmetics are possible (mechanic job by default)
  • Mechanic tools for repairs; repair costs scale with the damage, using materials you set (e.g. iron, plastic, steel, aluminum), taken from a job stash or the player's inventory, or free repairs
  • Duct tape item for a limited emergency repair of engine and body
  • Performance items: engines (Shonen, V8, V10, V12), suspension levels, brakes, transmission, armour, turbo and NOS (requires turbo; with cooldown)
  • Cosmetic items: bumpers, exhausts, xenon headlights, underglow controller, hood, horns, liveries, plates, rims, drift and bulletproof tires, tire smoke, roof, seats, skirts, spoilers, window tint, respray and RGB paint, interior and exterior extras
  • Police repair station
  • Crafting, stores and payment options for the mechanic shop, with /charge and till registers via qb-target
  • Mechanic shop locations with blips; optionally require a location and a job role for each location
  • Travel distance tracking per vehicle, in miles or km
  • Commands: /togglesound for upgraded engine sounds, /checkmods, /flipvehicle, /seat 1-15 and /checkdamage
  • Optional qb-mechanicjob integration for the extra vehicle damages (radiator, brakes, fuel tank, clutch, axle)

Requirements

  • qb-core
  • qb-menu and qb-input
  • PolyZone
  • oxmysql

Installation

  • Place jim-mechanic in your resources folder and add ensure jim-mechanic to your server.cfg.
  • Import vehaddon.sql. It adds travel distance and NOS columns to player_vehicles.
  • Add the items from install.md to your qb-core shared items and copy the item images to your inventory.
  • Replace the GetVehicleProperties and SetVehicleProperties functions in qb-core with the included versions to save drift and bulletproof tires and RGB paint.
  • Set jobs, locations, repair materials and options in config.lua and client/locations.lua.
