YouTube Speaker

YouTube Speaker lets players place a speaker in the world and play a YouTube link that everyone nearby hears in sync. It runs on ESX or standalone, switchable in the config.

Features

• Synced sound and synced UI for all players
• Paste a YouTube link to play music (embeddable videos only; some copyrighted videos work and some don't, the same goes for non-copyrighted ones)
• Pause, resume and mute
• Raise or lower the volume, which also raises or lowers the hearing distance
• Press E to use a speaker and G to pick it up
• Speakers can't be placed too close to another speaker
• Place a speaker with /speaker, or disable the command and use TriggerEvent("kepo_speaker:place"), for example from an ESX item

Configuration

• Config.UsingESX – run with ESX or standalone
• Config.EnableCommand – turn the /speaker command on or off
• Config.Enable3DText – show 3D help text at the speaker
• Editable message texts

Example uses

• Music for a party
• Sad music for a funeral
• Background music for jobs, for example a car dealer playing music for customers

Requirements

• mysql-async (loaded in the resource manifest)
• ESX optional

Installation

• Copy kepo_speaker into your resources folder.
• Add ensure kepo_speaker to your server.cfg.
• Set Config.UsingESX and the other options in config.lua.
