FiveM Server Hosting Comparison: How to Choose

By Luke

FiveM Server Hosting

Short answer: there is no universal “best” FiveM host. Start with the current Cfx.re hosting page, shortlist providers in the region where your players actually live, then test the same server build on each candidate. Compare measured resource time, peak tick time, backup restoration and support response—not a copied price table.

Setting up your first server? Follow our step-by-step guide on how to create a FiveM server.

Review method: this guide was rebuilt on 9 August 2026 from the official Cfx.re hosting list and Cfx server documentation. Provider prices and plan names are deliberately omitted because they change frequently.

Managed game hosting, VPS or dedicated server?

Managed game hosting is the simplest option when you want a panel, automated deployment and infrastructure support. It trades operating-system control for convenience. A VPS gives you root access and a predictable environment, but you own patching, firewall rules, database hardening, backups and monitoring. A dedicated server can remove noisy-neighbour risk, yet it only helps when the workload is CPU-bound and the operator can maintain the machine.

Do not size a server from slots alone. Framework choice, database queries, streamed assets and individual resources can dominate performance. Record a representative peak session and use the same resource set, database copy and player simulation for every trial.

A repeatable seven-day hosting test

  1. Choose the region from real player geography, not the cheapest headline location.
  2. Deploy a staging copy with the same artifacts, database size and resources as production.
  3. Use txAdmin and the built-in Cfx server commands to observe resource time and server behaviour.
  4. Run a normal peak session and one controlled restart. Log hitch warnings, connection failures and support response times.
  5. Restore a backup into a clean instance. A backup that has never been restored is not proven.
  6. Export all files and the database, then verify that the export is usable outside the provider panel.
  7. Compare the complete recurring price, including backups, storage, IPs, databases and migration fees.

Migration without an avoidable outage

Freeze writes, take a final database and resource backup, restore them on the new host, and test through a temporary endpoint before changing DNS or the public connect path. Keep the old instance available for rollback until player logins, identifiers, voice, database writes and scheduled restarts have passed. Document who can trigger rollback and how long the old host remains recoverable.

Decision

Choose the provider that passes the same workload and restore test with the clearest support and exit terms. Recheck the official listing and live contract immediately before purchase. For the broader launch stack, use the FiveM server guide and the pre-purchase checklist.
