There is no authorized Tebex alternative for monetizing a FiveM or RedM game server. Cfx.re states that Tebex is its exclusive monetization partner and that using another payment provider for game-server monetization violates the Platform License Agreement. Stripe, PayPal, Gumroad, Shopify and a custom checkout are therefore not substitutes for selling server access, in-game perks, ranks, currency or other server-linked benefits.
Scope matters: this rule concerns monetization of a FiveM or RedM game server. A separate software or professional service sold outside that server relationship is a different activity, but it must not be a disguised route to a server entitlement. This page is operational policy guidance, not legal advice.
The current Cfx.re server manual names Tebex as the exclusive and authorized monetization partner and expressly rejects other payment providers for game-server monetization. Read that page together with the current Cfx.re terms and the terms shown in the Cfx.re/Tebex onboarding flow before launching or changing an offer.
A processor being technically capable of accepting a card does not make the transaction compliant. The relevant question is what the buyer receives and how that purchase relates to the game server.
| What the customer buys | Practical classification | Commerce path |
|---|---|---|
| Server access, queue priority, an in-game item, currency, rank, role or perk | FiveM/RedM server monetization | Use the authorized Cfx.re/Tebex path and verify that the specific offer is permitted. |
| A resource licensed to another server owner | Software/resource sale | Follow the applicable Cfx.re creator distribution and Asset Escrow rules, plus the marketplace's terms. |
| Hosting, development or consulting delivered independently of a player entitlement | Off-server professional service | A normal business payment flow may be possible; define the service precisely and obtain legal/tax advice where needed. |
| A “donation” that unlocks something on the server | Server monetization despite the label | Treat it as a server-linked transaction, not as an unrestricted donation. |
Do not accept a direct payment and then grant the buyer a Discord role, identifier allowlist, package, vehicle, currency or other in-server benefit. Moving fulfilment into a bot or webhook does not change the underlying transaction. The same applies when a “membership”, “supporter tier” or “donation” has a promised server benefit.
Direct processors can still be relevant to a genuinely separate business activity—for example, invoiced consulting that does not grant access or benefits on a FiveM server. Keep the contract, product page, fulfilment and accounting separate enough that a customer can understand exactly what is being sold.
A resource creator selling original scripts, maps or other software is not automatically operating a player's game-server store. That distinction does not remove intellectual-property, Asset Escrow, distribution, consumer, tax or marketplace obligations. Start with the official Cfx.re Asset Escrow documentation and the current distribution terms for the route you use.
RPScripts disclosure: RPScripts is an independent marketplace and sells some resources referenced across this site. A RPScripts resource purchase does not authorize a server owner to bypass Cfx.re's server-monetization rules.
For the compliant operational flow, continue with the FiveM server monetization guide or set up a Tebex store.
