Standalone newspaper resource that is also compatible with ESX

A newspaper for journalism roleplay: players write titles and articles, and everyone can read the paper at newspaper stands in the city. Whitelisting is available, and ESX servers can require a job. The newspaper can also show recently jailed players at the bottom.

Features

• Standalone or ESX compatible
• Players with the reporter job can write their own articles (ESX)
• Two titles and two articles, each changed with its own command (/Title1, /Title2, /Article1, /Article2)
• Optional whitelist to restrict the title and article commands
• Recently jailed players shown at the bottom of the newspaper (three entries), added from your jail script with a trigger event
• Walk up to a newspaper stand and open or close the paper with /news (the stand requirement and command name can be changed)
• All options in config.lua

Requirements

• mysql-async
• ESX only if you want job requirements

Installation

• Run newspaper.sql to create the newspaper table.
• Copy newspaper into your resources folder and add start newspaper to your server.cfg.
• ESX users: uncomment the two es_extended/locale.lua lines in fxmanifest.lua and set Config.usingESX = true.
• To show jail sentences, call TriggerServerEvent('newspaper:jail', firstname, lastname, jailTime) from your jail script.
