Set up a working FXServer first, then install a specific vRP version with its matching database driver and extensions. The upstream repository documents vRP 2; instructions written for a vRP 1 fork can use different APIs and configuration.
Setting up your first server? Follow our step-by-step guide on how to create a FiveM server.
Start with the official FXServer setup. Confirm that a client can join before adding a framework. Use a separate test database and keep the working server configuration as a rollback point.
Record the vRP repository, branch and commit you choose. Read its version-specific documentation and inspect the configuration included with that checkout.
Join as a normal player, create a character, change a small amount of test inventory or money, reconnect and restart the server. Confirm that the expected state persists. Test an administrator and an ordinary player separately to check permission boundaries.
Add one compatible extension at a time and repeat the affected checks. Save the exact versions and configuration that passed.
Database authentication failures require checking the configured host, account, permissions and driver first. Missing exports or methods usually require checking framework/extension compatibility and start order. Preserve the full first error with secrets removed.
If installation fails, stop the new resources and restore the known-good configuration and test database. Avoid mixing random files from another vRP fork to hide an error.
